The Respect Missouri Voters Amendment will protect the citizen ballot initiative process forever:
  • Protect past initiatives: Prohibit the legislature from changing or repealing voter-approved initiatives unless by an 80% bipartisan supermajority vote in both chambers.
  • Protect our constitutional freedom: Prohibit laws that make the initiative process more difficult.
  • Unbiased ballot language: Require clear, unbiased, accurate ballot language so voters understand what they’re voting on.

InvestSTL and St. Louis Association of Community Organizations (SLACO) have awarded over $100,000 to over 50 St. Louis and East St. Louis neighborhoods through the Small Dollars Action Fund (SDAF).

The SDAF was created to support residents in connecting with their neighbors and taking collective action on initiatives like organizing block parties, celebrating National Night Out, and strengthening neighborhood pride.

Eligible applicants include neighborhood or tenant associations, block units, resident-led committees of a neighborhood community development corporation, and informal collectives (a group of at least 3 residents all living in the same neighborhood).

The funding cycle happens 3 times a year in Spring, Summer, and Fall. The next application cycle will open on April 10th on our website and close on May 8th to fund actions happening the Summer.

Applying to the SDAF is free, and Invest STL would love to support you through the application process. You can check out the attached fliers or visit the SDAF website for more information about eligible activities and resources for applicants.

They will hold an Information Webinar Wednesday, April 9, 6:00pm. Join online using this Google Meet Link: https://meet.google.com/izi-tmjx-fqv

During this webinar, they will share the latest about the Fund and how you can apply. Once the application opens, if you need help with your application, sign up for an in-person or virtual support session on April 22nd or May 5th here: SDAF Support Session Booking Link.

Feel free to connect with us on social media to stay up to date on the SDAF and other work that Invest STL has going on. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out to sdaf@investstl.org with any questions.

st. louis city extreme urban heat community input session

St. Louis City Extreme Urban Heat Community Input Session

Over the last few months the Missouri Coalition for the Environment (MCE) with support from SLACO and other partners, held 6 community meetings around the City of St. Louis to garner community input to inform an Extreme Urban Heat Policy Plan for the City of St. Louis. We invited citizens to come share their experiences and priorities for combatting urban heat in the coming years. We also hosted an input session as part of a SLACO Board meeting.

We got great feedback at these meetings including the suggestion that we hold an on-line input session to allow people to participate and share their opinions virtually.

So we will be hosting a Virtual Community Input Session via Zoom for those (especially those who live, work and do business in the City) who would like to provide input on this incredibly important issue.
