Welcome to SLACO!
The St. Louis Association of Community Organizations, commonly known as SLACO by its friends, has been addressing a broad range of issues related to strengthening neighborhoods since 1978.
Our Mission
To improve the quality of life for the residents and stakeholders of neighborhoods of the St. Louis region through community-based initiatives, citizen empowerment, neighborhood organizing, and building the resiliency of its community organization membership.
Our Vision
SLACO will be the preeminent St. Louis area organization dedicated to strengthening and providing technical support to neighborhood associations allowing them to build their capacity and accomplish their goals. SLACO strives that one day all St. Louis neighborhoods are served by a representative neighborhood organization. SLACO is committed (to supporting neighborhood planning as a means) to enhancing the livability of each neighborhood and strengthening the unique identity of each.
Support Our After School Program!
To Our Valued Supporters,
The St. Louis Association Of Community Organizations (SLACO) After School Program is a critical source of meals, support, and hope for families in our neighborhood who lack access to safe, affordable childcare.
The devastation from May’s tornado has only intensified these hardships in the West End. Now more than ever, we need your support to keep Camp SLACO going—providing stability, enrichment, and a safe haven for the children who need it most.
Our program provides:
- Nutritious meals and snacks served daily
- Safe, extended-hours to assist working families
- Engaging enrichment through arts, STEM, games, and field trips
- A caring, supportive environment where kids can learn, play, and grow
Our families have been through so much, and your support means hope, stability, and the kind of life every child deserves. Help support our children’s SLACO After School Program!
With sincere gratitude,
SLACO
